Automated campaigns are a tool in Referrizer, which allows you to reach out to your contacts automatically when certain conditions (defined by you) are met. Previously, once a contact met the criteria and received the campaign messages, they could not reenter the same campaign. However, with our new update, your contacts can now reenter and re-trigger the same campaign multiple times.
Please note that the multiple reentries feature is only available for Automated campaigns and not for Regular campaigns.
What is the Multiple Reentries Feature?
The Multiple Reentries feature lets your contacts reenter and re-trigger the same campaign multiple times. You control when and how often this can happen.
The key elements are:
1. Allow Multiple Reentries Checkbox
Once checked, this enables your contacts to reenter the same campaign multiple times if they re-trigger the campaign conditions.
2. Minimum Time Between Reentries Checkbox
If checked, this prevents the contacts from reentering the campaign until a certain amount of days have passed since they last triggered the campaign.
How to Create a Multiple Reentry Automated Campaign
Let's go through an example: Suppose you want to set up a campaign that sends a message every time a contact has a birthday. Here's how you can create this campaign:
- Navigate to `Campaigns` -> `Automated` from the sidebar menu on the left side of the screen.
- Click the `Create Campaign` button on the top right and select `New Campaign` from the dropdown menu.
- Choose whether you want the campaign to send Text or Email messages, then click `Next`.
- Enter the name of the campaign, for example, "Birthday discount campaign", and click `Next`.
- Now you're on the Campaign editor page. In the Start Trigger section, select the Create New Trigger option from the dropdown menu.
- Set the triggers for the automated campaign. Under the All Conditions below must be met section, choose Birthday -> Today.
7. Enter a name for the trigger, for instance, "Contact's Birthday is today" and click `Create trigger`.
8. Now, check the Allow Multiple Reentries option underneath the trigger. This allows for contacts to receive the message from this campaign every time they have a birthday.
Understanding Multi-Entry Campaigns and Stop Triggers
When a recipient activates a "stop trigger" within a multi-entry campaign, it only halts that specific instance of the email/text series for him. It doesn't permanently block the customer from the campaign. This means if the conditions are met again in the future, the same customer can re-enter and start a new instance of the campaign's message series.
Let's consider a 'Birthday Promo Discount' campaign:
- Day 1 (Birthday): The campaign enrolls the customer on their birthday and they receive the first message, which might be a warm birthday wish and a discount offer.
- Day 4: If the customer hasn’t claimed the discount, they get a reminder about the offer.
- Day 7: A final reminder is sent urging them to use the promo before it expires.
Now, if at any point between these messages, the customer decides to claim the discount (say, after the first message), the "stop trigger" activates. This means they won't receive the subsequent reminders for that year because they've already benefited from the offer.
However, when their birthday rolls around next year, the campaign treats them as a new enrollee. This means the whole sequence (from Day 1 to Day 7) restarts, even if they had previously triggered a stop in the last year's campaign.
This mechanism ensures that customers aren't spammed with unnecessary reminders after claiming an offer, but they still remain in the loop for future promotions.
Remember to set up the campaign's messages and other settings as per your needs.
And there you have it, a Multiple Reentry Automated Campaign. With this new feature, the power of campaign automation is in your hands. Tailor your customer communication to maximize engagement and drive results! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our support team.
