Modified on Thu, 27 Oct 2022 at 12:02 PM

Using the Smart Line number would definitely give you great benefits. On the other hand, if you really prefer to have settled your Business Number for texting your customers, we found a way to assist you.

The first thing you will need to do is to fill in a request form. Please, follow the instructions below.

Raise your request

  1. Go to the Smart Line app
  2. Chose the Business Line Texting option
  3. Fill in the request form and wait to hear back from our support team to advise you regarding the following steps

Hosting process

Our communication carrier Twilio needs to check if your number is ready to be hosted with them.

Two main conditions are:

  1. The number has to be a landline number
  2. If there is existing SMS Routing Profile on the number (also known as a "SPID"). In this case you will need to contact the current carrier and speak with the department responsible for routing SMS traffic. You need to express your desire to transfer your SMS traffic to Twilio.

Once we have your number ready to host, there are a few required steps we need to go through:

  1. Verify the Ownership - our support team will need to reach out to you and assist you with this process
  2. Sign the Letter of Authorization (LOA) - you will recieve the letter via email with instructions how to sign it online and forward back once you finish
  3. Carrier Processing & Carrier Testing - final testing conduct by Twilio
  4. Hosting Complete - confirmation that your number has been hosted with Twilio communication carrier

Important facts

Please, before raising your request be aware of the following facts:

Your Business Number would be used for all Text Campaigns and 1-1 Inbox messaging through Referrizer

Texting functionality with the previous communication carrier will be lost and switched to Twilio

Smart Line tracking Number would remain in place, but you will be able to use it only for calls - to make call and receive as well (received calls would be forwarded to your business number)

We do advise you to complete/finish any integration, if in place, before raising this 5. request.

Keep in mind that, if you host your business number with new communication carrier (Twilio), your saved contacts' details with the previous communication carrier will be lost
