Why not take advantage of the free email that comes with your hosting account? Using an email address like “info@yourcompanyname.com” is far more professional than using a personal email address. Plus, it’s free!
If you’ve purchased a domain, it’s worth ensuring you’re using an email service that’s included. Many domain registrars offer email forwarding for free, so you can forward emails from your domain to your personal inbox. Additionally, your hosting provider should offer the ability to create at least one domain-based email account as part of your plan.
Setting Up a Domain Email Address
Follow these steps to create an email address like “info@yourcompanyname.com” and link it to your Gmail account. This will allow you to send and receive emails through Gmail while keeping your business email address professional. The process is divided into two parts: first, we’ll create the domain email address; second, we’ll link it with Gmail.
Step 1: Create the Domain Email Address (Receiving Emails Only)
- Log into your hosting control panel (CPanel), where your domain is managed.
- Go to the “Email Accounts” section.
- Enter the details for your new email account (e.g., info@yourcompanyname.com).
- After creating the account, you’ll see a success notification, confirming the account has been created.
- Next, go to the “Forwarders” section under the Mail section in CPanel and click “Add Forwarder.”
- Enter the details and click “Add Forwarder.” This will forward emails from your domain email (e.g., info@yourcompanyname.com) to your personal email.
Now all the emails sent to “info@yourcompanyname.com” will be sent to your personal email address.
Step 2: Integrate Your Domain Email with Gmail (Sending and Receiving Emails)
- Sign in to your Gmail account.
- Go to “Settings” and click “Accounts and Import.”
- Under “Send mail as,” click “Add another email address you own.”
- A popup will appear—fill in your domain email address and click “Next.”
- Click “Send Verification” to receive a verification email. Click the link inside the email to confirm.
- Once verified, you’ll be able to send and receive emails from your domain address directly through Gmail.
Now, when you click “Compose” in Gmail, you’ll see your new domain email address as an option for sending emails, making your communication look more professional!
